During a girls trip to Walt Disney World in August, my sister-in-law and I dined at the Polite Pig while we shopped at Disney Springs. This was my first time sampling their well-known barbecue options. There was an employee outside the door to the restaurant who had menus available for my sis-in-law and I to peruse. The employee was also happy to obtain an allergy-friendly menu for me. Since they offered many gluten free options, we proceeded inside an ordered at the counter. I explained my gluten, dairy, and egg allergy to the wait staff at the counter, and she noted this in my order. I opted for a salad with smoked pork as my meal. From there, we were seated and our food was brought out promptly.
The salad presentation was lovely and tasted delicious. However, I did notice a significant upset stomach as the day went on. While it could be due to the salad, I certainly cannot confirm this. I would certainly dine at the Polite Pig again, but I would test the salad with my Nima Sensor first.
What has your experience been like at the Polite Pig? What is your favorite GF menu item? Have you tested anything there with your Nima?
