To celebrate my 15th wedding anniversary with my husband, we scheduled a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This was my first international trip following my celiac disease diagnosis, so I was understandably nervous about finding a resort that could accommodate my dietary needs. After MUCH research, we selected a Wellness Suite at the Grand Velas Resort in Puerto Vallarta.
The Wellness Suite appealed to both of us for many reasons. We loved that the Wellness Suite included:
Our own personal wellness concierge to personalize your stay
Consultation with the chef
2 levels – each with private balconies
Outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the ocean
Complimentary room service with all inclusive meals
Diffuser and essential oils
In-room exercise equipment including exercise bike, weights, yoga mats, etc.
50 minute massage per person (on the massage tables located on our upper balcony)
Hydrotherapy circuit in the spa
Daily personal training with an athletic trainer in our suite
Nikken Kinko pillows and lamps
Vitamin C water in the shower
Wellness Minibar including health waters, fresh veggies, nuts, dried fruit, etc.
We absolutely adored our stay in the Wellness Suite. My allergy needs were promptly addressed by the concierge and chef interviews which both took place conveniently in our suite. We enjoyed many of our meals on our penthouse balcony overlooking the ocean. It was a beautiful view with copious amounts of food. We took advantage of the daily personal training and had the trainer do yoga with us on our upper balcony while we enjoyed views of the ocean. It felt luxurious to enjoy a couples massage on the penthouse balcony as well. As you can see, there is a theme – we spent MOST of our time on our penthouse balcony. With a view like this, why not?!?
