As many of you know, my husband and kids do not have celiac disease. They honor and support my GF needs, but they also have the occasional donut! I happily tag along when we run through our local Dunkin’ Donuts, but I do not grab anything to eat or drink. Well, those sad days are over, my friends! Guess what Dunkin’ has debuted?!? A GF fudge brownie! My sweet husband heard the news and immediately brought one home for me to try!
Here are my thoughts! First, I like that it is individually wrapped, so there is no worry of cross contamination while at the Dunkin store (where there is obviously a lot of gluten being thrown around). Second, the cost for each brownie is $2 – so not terribly expensive for a GF product. In regard to ingredients, I am always a bit of a purist and prefer organic, GMO free ingredients. In addition, the fewer the ingredients the better. However, I will sometimes allow myself a splurge especially with dessert. This brownie has a relatively short ingredient list (in comparison to many other GF processed foods). See pics below of nutrition facts and ingredient list. Now let’s talk about taste. The Dunkin’ Donuts Fudge Brownie has really good flavor and texture. The outside was a bit crunchy (think corner of the pan goodness) but the inside was fudgy and chewy. As with all GF products, it was a bit crumbly but this can be overlooked due to the good flavor. I found the brownie to be very rich and filling, so I only finished half of it in one sitting and saved the rest for later.
Would I order this brownie again or recommend to my GF and non-GF friends? Yep, I would!
